DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL, unless maybe you're bleeding out right in front of it or you don't mind going bankrupt. I was billed $9000 for a diagnostic colonoscopy, NOT including the gastroenterologist or the anesthesiologist. You read that right. I was there for a total of three hours, $9000. This was out-of-network (long story) but I was told my patient portion was $700, so we decided we could live with it. Then got a bill for another $8300. No explanation. $4500 was "anesthesiology services" - even though there was a separate bill for the anesthesiologist. Before the procedure, an anesthesiologist came by and chatted with me for a few minutes. Then it turned out someone else performed the anesthesiology. So was I charged for both? I only needed one. This feels like extortion.
