From the time I walked in the door for my scheduled surgery, the billing of the services was in question. When asked, they divulged that they were not part of the PPO in-network group for my insurance coverage. But theyu assured me that they would only hold me responsible for 10% of the fees. They stated the fees and required the 10% to be paid at the time of service. Later they doubled the service fees that they had originally proposed, billed my insurance company, and demanded additional [payment from me. Billing services are horrible. Two separate offices send separate bills... One from a P.O. box in Newport Beach and another from an office in Pasadena. Confusion reigns! The bills don't match. They send threatening letters, and are unable to provide any of the initial paperwork... that they demand you sign on the day of surgery. The surgery and onsite service staff are professional and competent.... but the billing process is a nightmare. The people I spoke with during my billing issues were courteous and friendly, but the follow up and the threatening letters are incompetent (different balances) and unprofessional. They need to fix the process!
