Went to the ER at the end of 2017 for kidney stone episode. Just received my bill and they charged just under $6,000 for an abdomen CT scan when their own averages from all of last year the low was $1000 and high end at $2250. Same for the abdomen ultrasound I received was just charged just over $1000 when their low end average is $260 and high end cost is $650. So I’m sure the remainder of the charges are way inflated as well. The care was ok, and staff was friendly enough but the charges are outrageous not to mention I wasn’t told about the cost of any charges prior to doing any of the scans etc. if I knew that cost I’d have went home and used ibuprofen until the kidney stone passed. So for an about 5 hour visit for a kidney stone my bill is just under $10,000. Note ER was absolutely dead that night. I’d rather deal with pain for that cost.
