Subject: Obtuse: 10/25/2013 I was on time for my appointment at Rapid Sound, Imaging/Green Valley, AZ. As a Diabetic with Peripheral-Neuropathy unable to feel my legs, my doctor advised me to have an MRI for the damage on my right foot. I found the receptionists very pleasant and knowledgeable of their duties. In the office, I was called in for the MRI. From the get-go the technician was very obtuse in her actions, more on the ordering me, than requesting, that didn’t bother me because I thought it was part of her boring repetitious job with a bummed out attitude. On the MRI table she positioned my foot for the imaging, gave me headphones with music to dilute the sound of the machine, and all was OK. Then she gave me instructions not to move, and left the room. About 18 minutes went by and her voice came over my headphones telling me that we would have to repeat the test. After approximately another 18 minutes of testing, it looked as if we had started a third round of the same testing. After two minutes (into that third session), I thought something was wrong. I called out “HELLO” and nothing happened. Again “HELLO” … and louder “HELLO!” After waiting 10 seconds I whistled, and again whistled twice as loud, and finely she came in the room. I asked where were you? She replied, “taking your pictures” in a snappy voice. Why didn’t you answer me when I called out and whistled? She said, “it’s a sound proof room and I didn’t hear you, but we are not through”. I asked how long she had been doing this and she said 17 years, with an attitude all the way. I told her I was through with her and asked for assistance sitting up, since I am a Diabetic with Peripheral-Neuropathy unable to feel my legs. She didn’t have a clue how to help me up and put my safety at risk. I asked her to call for my daughter in the waiting room to help me. She indicated that my daughter couldn’t come into that room, so with little help from her I managed to walk out. In the front office I requested to speak to someone of authority and explain this ordeal. The office manager came out and indicated he didn’t have time to handle this right now and ask me to right out my complaint and he would give it to the owner. Rapid Sound, Inc. failed in patient support and diplomacy PS. While my daughter was in the front office she was called upon to translate Spanish – WOW – 20 minutes from the border and no bilingual employees. Joe Evans 520-399-2005 Cc: Dr. M.
